About Samantha

Samantha is Content Lead for personal finance at JD Credit, a moneylender licensed by the Ministry of Law. She is responsible for the borrower education content on jdcredit.com.sg: the guides, the explainers and the quizzes that help people understand what they are agreeing to before they sign a loan contract.

She has spent eight years writing about consumer finance, and works directly with JD Credit’s lending team, the people who sit across the counter from borrowers every day. That access is the point. Most published advice about borrowing in Singapore is written from the outside, working off the regulations. Samantha’s guides are checked against how applications, approvals and repayments actually run in a licensed lending office.

Her view is that most borrowing problems start earlier than people think, at the point where someone compares a monthly instalment instead of a total cost, or skims a note of contract because the lender seemed reassuring. So the guides tend to be practical rather than motivational: what to work out before you apply, what to ask, and which numbers actually determine what a loan costs you.

She writes on personal loans, debt consolidation, repayment planning, and the parts of the Moneylenders Act that affect borrowers directly. Questions about a specific application or an individual’s eligibility go to JD Credit’s lending team, who assess each case on its own merits.

How this content is produced

Every guide on this site is written against primary sources: the Moneylenders Act and the Moneylenders Rules, Ministry of Law guidance, and JD Credit’s own lending practice. Before a guide is published it is reviewed by JD Credit’s lending team to confirm that what it describes matches how borrowing actually works in a licensed office.

Articles are dated and reviewed when the rules change. We do not publish guaranteed-approval claims, and we do not quote figures we cannot source. If you spot something on this site that is wrong or out of date, write to enquiry@jdcredit.com.sg and we will correct it.
