Is JD Credit Legit?

Yes. JD Credit Pte Ltd is a licensed moneylender listed on the Ministry of Law's Registry of Moneylenders, and has operated from the same shopfront at Hong Lim Complex in Chinatown since 2010. You do not have to take our word for that, and you should not. Below is how to verify it yourself in about two minutes.

Check us yourself, in two minutes

This is the part of the page that matters, so it comes first.

  • Look us up on the official list. The Ministry of Law publishes the full list of licensed moneylenders in Singapore. Search it for "JD Credit Pte Ltd". If a lender is not on that list, no amount of professional looking website makes them legal.
  • Check the address matches. The list shows the licensed business address. Ours is 531 Upper Cross Street, #01-38 Hong Lim Complex, Singapore 050531. A licensed moneylender may only conduct business at its approved address. If someone claiming to be us gives you a different address, it is not us.
  • Check the phone number matches. Ours is the landline +65 6292 7717. A licensed moneylender must advertise a business number, not a personal mobile.
  • Come and look. We are a physical shopfront in a public complex with opening hours, staff and a counter. You can walk in and ask questions without applying for anything.

What "licensed" actually means, and what it costs us

A moneylending licence in Singapore is not a registration you buy. It is granted by the Registrar of Moneylenders, it is reviewed, and it can be suspended or revoked. Holding it means we are audited, we must keep records in a prescribed form, and we must follow rules on how much we may charge, how we may advertise, how we may collect a debt and how we must treat you at the counter.

It also means there is somewhere to complain about us that is not us. That is the real difference between a licensed lender and an unlicensed one. If we treat you badly, you have a regulator to go to and we have a licence to lose.

Fifteen years at the same address

JD Credit was established in 2010. We have borrowed from the same unit in Hong Lim Complex ever since, through two economic downturns and a pandemic. A business that intends to take your money and disappear does not sign a fifteen year lease in a public shopfront five minutes from a police post.

How to tell a fake JD Credit from the real one

Our name is used by scammers. It happens to every licensed moneylender in Singapore, and it is the single most common way people get hurt. The impostor copies our name, our licence number and sometimes our whole website, then contacts people from a mobile number.

Here is how to tell the difference, every time:

If any row on the right describes what happened to you, stop, do not transfer anything, and report it to the Police at 1800 255 0000 or the X Ah Long hotline on 1800 924 5664. Then call our landline and tell us, so we know our name is being used.

Borrowing from a licensed moneylender, not a loan shark

JD Credit Pte Ltd holds moneylending Licence No. 43/2026 issued by the Registry of Moneylenders under the Ministry of Law. We have operated from the same shopfront at Hong Lim Complex since 2010. You can check our licence yourself on the Ministry of Law list of licensed moneylenders before you speak to anyone here.

There are things a licensed moneylender in Singapore is not allowed to do, and knowing them protects you:

  • We cannot advertise a loan to you by SMS, WhatsApp message, phone call or social media message. If you received one claiming to be JD Credit, it was not us.
  • We cannot ask for any fee before your loan is approved and granted.
  • We cannot ask for your Singpass ID or password, and we will never hold your NRIC, passport, ATM card or work pass.
  • We cannot approve and disburse a loan entirely online. Singapore law requires you to attend our office in person so the contract and the terms can be explained to you face to face.
  • We must explain the terms in a language you understand, give you a copy of the signed contract, and issue a receipt for every payment.

If anything about an approach to you does not match that list, stop, and report it to the Police at 1800 255 0000 or the X Ah Long hotline on 1800 924 5664.
